The Daily Bump: Dub House in your face!

Rob Paine, Worship Records

Reggae, meet house music; house music, meet reggae. Infusing dubwise grooves with the four-to-the-floor beats of dance music is certainly not a new feat among DJs and producers - now we have dub disco, dub techno, dub this, dub that, dubstep....but the "dub house" thread of the movement is lesser known. Why is that? Because all the good stuff seems to fall below the radar. However, we've hit a jackpot of true dub house by way of Worship Records, a fantastic Philly-based imprint that has been around since 1998 and we just discovered them! Check out this awesome mix by label boss, Rob Paine. Here is where reggae and house meet half way - rather than simply fuse the genres Paine cleverly choreographs the two into a delicious aural dance that drips with bass heavy beats and the echoey vibe of dub. Feel the riddim!
