No place like The Yard...Mr. Scruff at Sunday Best

We just received notice that The Yard has officially closed their doors. Lease issues and stubborn landlords seem to be the fate of this a truly unique and beloved place located along the Gowanus Canal. For years The Yard has been the home to Sunday Best parties, mini-festivals, concerts and so many wonderful shows. We haven't fully digested this heartbreaking news - some of our best memories and summer highlights trace back to those Sunday afternoons dancing past sunset on the crammed dance floor to delicious disco and soul drenched house, sipping on cheap sangria, huddling under umbrellas with strangers, admiring the rainbows over the Gowanus, breathing in the mouthwatering smell of fresh tacos and making new friends around the picnic tables...we could go on and on.

This was a magical place that brought people together and brewed a collective energy that was infectious and uplifting. We'll keep you posted with related news and updates when we hear more...
